FAQ
How do I become a member?
We require that everyone comes to one of our Intro Sessions before joining regular classes. At the Intro Session, we will go over the basics of boxing, do some mini workouts, and tell you more about how gym membership works. You will receive a membership application at the intro class, and we will explain how to sign up for our regular boxing classes at that time. Intro Classes are $10 at registration, and last 60 minutes.
How do I sign up for an Intro Session?
You can go to our homepage and click the "Book Your Class Here" button, and that will take you to our booking site. Please be sure to register for an Intro and not a Regular Boxing Class.
Can I skip the Intro Class if I have previous boxing/martial arts experience?
No. While there are many great boxing gyms out there, we do not all run our classes the same. Coaching styles and form focus can vary greatly from gym to gym, and we have found that even those who have boxed before appreciate the Intro Class and what it provides.
I have never boxed before, is there a beginner class?
Once you take the intro class, you can come to any of our regular boxing classes, aside from the Advanced class on Mondays at 5:30 PM. All of our classes are designed to provide a great workout, whether you are brand new, or have been boxing for years. We encourage members to go at their own pace, and modify or adjust moves as needed. Our coaches will always be here to encourage and challenge you, but this is YOUR workout, and we want you to do what feels best for your body.
Will I get hit?
No. While we teach you the skill of boxing, and you will hit the heavy bag in each class, we are not a competition gym, and do not do sparring or contact. We will teach you how to stand, punch, and move the way you would in a boxing ring. Then we use those skills during each class as a significant part of your workout.
If you are interested in competition boxing at some point, Coach Jessie will be happy to talk your ear off about the competition world, and tell you more about how to prepare for this. While we do not compete, our gym is a great place to learn and develop good boxing habits before taking a step towards boxing in a ring.
Can my kid sign up for your classes?
Right now, all of our classes are for 18 years and up, so they must be 18 to sign up for classes. If we offer a kids class in the future, we will be sure to post about it on our website and social media.
